But always try to have the laundry fully out of the washer and into the dryer before you pop off to work, school, or sleep. You start a load running and aren’t home or awake long enough to move it forward. Leaving clothes in the washer does happen from time to time. This means that leaving wet clothes in your washer halfway through the washing cycle is not something you want to do. A pile of wet clothes, even those just washed, are an all-too-welcoming sight for things like mold, mildew, and some insects. But even in a dry or neutral climate, wet clothes left in the washer is a bad idea. In a damp climate, clothes in the washer can turn to musty or moldy forms very quickly. If you’re not certain, the information on the inside of your top-loading washer lid is likely to have the clues you need to decide which laundry soap to use with your washer. For the most part, the worst thing that can happen is that your washer gets a little musty and moldy but poor maintenance can lead to worse dangers than that. Fail to maintain your washer and it could take a turn for the worst. With the right maintenance steps, your washer will serve faithfully for years into the future. The first step is to take good care of your washer. In a time when front-loading, HE washers are all the rage, there are still millions of American homes sporting a traditional top-loading washer.

Where to Buy: Taza Chocolate is carried at many Whole Foods stores and can also be ordered directly from Taza. COVID update: Taza Chocolate has updated their hours, takeout & delivery options. Taza suggests using it for a rich Mexican hot chocolate. It would be great in chocolate chip cookie dough as well. Suggested Uses: This chocolate is fabulous as a snack or to use chopped up in recipes such as our Browned Butter Chocolate Chunk & Oatmeal Raisin Cookies. The Con: This is a pricey chocolate at almost $30/pound. The Pros: The retail packaging of the discs really stands out in a crowded field of specialty chocolates and is also minimal, which many consumers appreciate. The cacao percentages vary per flavor and range from 40% to 70%. Note that their discs come in other flavors as well, such as Salted Almond, Cacao Pure, Fire Puncher, Orange Cinnamon, Chipotle Chili, Coffee, Ginger, Guajillo Chili, Orange, Salt & Pepper and Vanilla. Taza states that this is 50% cacao, but to us it tastes darker and richer. The cinnamon is obvious, but neither too subtle nor too pronounced it has great balance. He worked on the Venetian scenes at home and the death of his wife Alice in 1911 seems to have been a factor in their completion.Twilight Venice (San Giorgio Maggiore at Dusk), Claude MonetĬlaude Monet’s Twilight Venice ((San Giorgio Maggiore at Dusk)), painted en plein air, or outdoors and from life, in 1908 and not finished until 1912, is a remarkable view of the island of San Giorgio Maggiore in the Italian city of Venice. However, he had already retreated from his earlier practice of painting from life, in front of the subject. Monet felt Venice was a city "too beautiful to be painted", which may be why he returned with many paintings unfinished to Giverny, his home in France. San Giorgio Maggiore was a favorite subject for painters, including the proto-Impressionist Turner. He disliked crowds of tourists and he was also worried about conforming to other artists who were drawn to Venice, such as Renoir or Manet. Monet was reportedly reluctant to paint from the waterfront. Although the view from the hotel included the church of San Giorgio Maggiore, the painting at dusk appears to have been viewed from the waterfront known as the Riva degli Schiavoni, where the island forms a focal point of the view. Monet painted looking out from this hotel, but not, it seems, in the case of this particular painting. Monet, the Britannia had a view, "if such a thing were possible, even more beautiful than that of Palazzo Barbaro." Monet and his wife Alice stayed at the Palazzo Barbaro for a couple of weeks, and then moved to the Hotel Britannia, where they stayed until December.Īccording to Mme. This photo separates the campanile and dome of San Giorgio Maggiore, as it is taken from a position nearer the Grand Canal than the dusk paintings. He was particularly impressed by the Venetian sunsets, “these splendid sunsets which are unique in the world.” He had previously been inspired by other sunsets, such as those of Normandy (in Rouen Cathedral and Haystacks, his series of the 1890s) and London ( Houses of Parliament). With this varied approach, the paintings focused on the ‘nature of experience.’ Monet painted the church of San Giorgio Maggiore in six lighting conditions. To the right are the faintly visible domes of Santa Maria della Salute and the mouth of the Grand Canal. The painting focuses on the Church of San Giorgio Maggiore with its bell tower rising to the top of the painting. The forms are gently inserted, though not enough to disguise their identity. It depicts mysterious buildings that seem to magically appear from the surrounding landscape, they almost seem to float in the background.
